City of Boulder City News
Residential Amnesty Program - See the news release regarding Boulder City Residential Amnesty Program. The program starts May 1, 2022 and waives penalties on self-disclosed residential construction work that was completed without building permits. (Please note that all other fees, permits and costs associated with the issuance of a building or other permit shall remain in effect during May.)
Power Reminders -
If you experience a power outage, check your electric panel to see if a breaker tripped. Often, you can restore power on your own. If you determine that a fuse is blown, check to see if you can pinpoint the item causing the issue and try unplugging it.
Electrical panels are typically located outside your building. If your panel is shared with other businesses, consider placing a combination lock on it and be sure to share the combination with other businesses connected to that panel. If your panel is for your building alone, keep it locked with a padlock or combination lock to prevent tampering. Make sure your employees have the key or know the combination.
As a reminder, the City is responsible for the utility feed that is to the service entrance point or immediately upstream of the main breaker in the electrical panel. The City does not repair electrical issues on business or private property. If you have a business that experiences an outage beyond the City stream, the property or business owner must hire an electrician for repair.
Veterans Home Looking for Businesses to Collaborate With
The Southern Nevada Veterans Home has a new program to recognize staff who have gone above and beyond for residents and staff members at the facility. They are looking to partner with local businesses to donate gift cards every quarter to a local restaurant as a reward for the recognized staff member. The first staff member of the quarter will be announced at the end of April. Contact Amanda at 702-332-6741 if you'd be interested in participating.
