New Halloween Ghost Story for Boulder City Ghost Tour and Show - News Release

A Halloween tragedy in 1947 has resurfaced to help explain some of the extreme ghostly activity between Boulder City and the nearby Railroad Pass Casino.

Local paranormal expert Joshua P. Warren found that Dick Likens, who owned the Reservation Café, next to present-day Beer Zombies, crashed his small plane outside the Railroad Pass Casino on October 30, 1947. He and his friend, local tavern owner Ersel Telford, died in a ball of fire.

Afterward, letters were written to the Boulder City News about how the spirits of the men were trying to communicate.

A friend of the men, Reynaldo Castelar, told his story and wrote: “How was I to imagine, then, that he was already a discarnate spirit, free from all human attachments, and still thinking of his friends no matter where they are?”

Joshua P. Warren owns the “Haunted Boulder City Ghost & UFO Tour,” that meets each night at Beer Zombies, and the one-hour “Vegas Ghost & UFO Show” that will be presented throughout the month of October at the Railroad Pass Casino.

“It’s shocking to see that such paranormal activity was officially recorded as far back as 1947,” says Warren. “I believe this helps to explain so many of the strange experiences, and weird lights in the sky, reported in this area to this day. We’re going to present information that even lifelong locals probably don’t know.”

For historic photos and info regarding this Halloween tragedy, and a local’s new video footage of a “ghost airplane” passing a “real airplane” near the Railroad Pass Casino, go to:

This Fall, Warren hopes locals will attend his walking tour at Beer Zombies, and live show at the Railroad Pass Casino, to learn more about this incident, and other paranormal stories in the area that have never before been revealed. Both are non-fiction, 60-minutes, and suitable for all ages.
