Nevada Department of Transportation launching online meeting
The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) is launching a public comment period and an online public information meeting as part of its Planning and Environmental Linkages (PEL) study and they want to hear from you! Learn about the I-11 PEL study, see the I-11 corridor alternatives, and participate through numerous ways including online now through September 30.
A PEL study is an approach to transportation decision making. The PEL process removes duplication between planning studies and future environmental review processes. Community members can participate in the online public meeting or attend a meeting in person. Join the online meeting here now through September 30.
Best Dam Wine Walks are back September 11
We are back for the last part of the 2021 season! check out the website for the dates, themes, check-in spots, and to purchase your tickets.
As a reminder, due to COVID-19, please do not have snacks at your location. The Southern Nevada Health District will continue health inspections so if you're a participating business, please be sure to follow mask guidelines, wash your hands frequently (with your hand washing station if you have one). If you are required to have a hand-washing station, that is for YOUR use, not for customers.
Travel insights from Destination Analysts
We at the Chamber follow a lot of publications, but one specifically speaks to travelers and because our economy is mostly based on tourism, we find them especially helpful to share. Small businesses who operate in a high tourist traffic community can benefit from learning a little about why travelers and visitors choose to come to different places.
This month, it's been about traveling among the COVID-19 Delta variant and how tourism is affected. You'll be surprised at some of the survey results. Check them out here and let us know if you're seeing some of the same results.
